Oak Street Elementary School K-4 Reviews

My children who have now graduated high school and my grandchildren who currently attend Oak Street all love(d) it. For the most part very concerned, caring teachers and staff. Principal at times seems like she doesn't want to be bothered with and by students. She's young and may just need more time to grow as a principal. Overall good school!

Oak Street is a great school. The academic program is excellent and individualized for the child. They have lap top computers, computer labs, Accelerated Reader and other wonderful programs. Parent involvement is very high. I would highly recommend this school.

I love the curriculum at Oak Street and the staff is absolutely wonderful. I can honestly say, the teachers and administrators really care about the kids. My child will be in the third grade next year...she has always attended oak street...she is well adjusted, and knows that her teachers (and her parents) are there for her, to help her to succeed in life's endeavors. The emphasis of Oak street is on the 'Books' (Math, Science,English, etc...) The school leaves extracurricular type activities for after school and summer. I feel that my child is receiving exactly what she needs at this age. She probably won't be a star athlete, very few students will realisticly. Her 'book' knowledge is what will give her an 'edge' in life. Oak street is providing her with the fundamentals to succeed in our competetive world. Parents are extremely involved and supportive. I love this school!

Overall i feel the academic program is wonderful. I am disappointed that there is no real art program at this school. I feel that children nned to be able to express themselves through art just as importantly as through any other subject. I think most of the teachers at oak street are top notch - excellent! when my child began first began school there, i really had some concerns about the principal. I felt as though she did not have a heart to listen to what the parents are saying. Over the past couple of years, i have seen some change in her, but like most of us, she still has some areas that could be improved upon. My overall view of this school is great!
